What is the difference between the graphite electrodes produced by Xinhui Carbon in the use of AC electric arc furnaces and DC electric arc furnaces?
I all know that graphite electrodes for DC/AC electric arc furnaces are a new type of electric furnace steelmaking equipment developed in the early 1980s. Graphite electrodes for DC/AC electric arc furnaces are also breakthroughs time and time again. Based on the transformation of the AC electric arc furnace, some use 3 graphite electrodes, and some use 2 graphite electrodes.

Graphite electrode application
AC/DC current can be used in RP/HP/UHP grade graphite electrodes, and DC current is generally used above UHP550 graphite electrodes.
Compared with AC EAF, DC EAF has the following characteristics.
1. The electrode consumption is reduced by more than half, and the consumption is only 1.8-20kg/t.
2 In the three-phase AC electric furnace, due to the interaction of the three arc power leads, the consumption of refractory materials is reduced.
3. The sound amplitude of the low-noise arc is proportional to the instantaneous power of the arc over time.
4. The voltage fluctuation is small under the same scrap steel operation mode, and the cumulative voltage fluctuation of the DC furnace is about 1/10 of that of the AC furnace and the AC furnace.
5. Comparison of economic benefits The loss of rectifier and reactor of DC furnace can reach 10kWh/t.
